is your town online?

Local Community Sign Up

Now is even a better reason to get your local community online, above all else if is not FREE! This page gives a brief introduction to the service and free offer.

What do we get by signing up?

By joining you get a database driven web site that everyone in the community can contribute to. As the community administrator, you can create non-profit making organisations within the online community that can be maintained by the appropriate people. Easy! Each organisation can have an unlimited amount of contacts and publications with separate articles.

On top of that, your community will also get an easy to remember web address of either, yourtown.town.org.uk or yourvillage.village.org.uk If you already have a domain name for your community we can configure that domain to work with our system, alternatively we can register a domain name at an additional cost.

How is the service free?

SeeTech the company behind the UK's online community generates income from the banner advertising across this site and by selling local businesses of the communities web sites.

Who can administer a community site?

Pretty much anyone, although local council members, teachers and religious preachers will be given precedence.

How do I sign up?

We have tried to keep this process as easy as possible, follow these simple steps and you can be online before you know it.

  1. Make sure your local community is not already online, Search Here, if not,
  2. Sign Up as a web site member.
  3. Complete the community Sign Up procedure.

Stage 3 will ask you for information that is then forwarded to the member services team. You will be required to forward either by post or fax proof that you are a member of the local parish or town council, a local religious preacher or a teacher.
